A bid opening was held on April 7, 2006 in the Town of Moreau Office Building, 61 Hudson Street, South Glens Falls, New York, for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for furnishing topsoil seedbed mix or compost for the construction of the Softball Field complex at the Harry J. Betar Jr. Recreational Park.

The bid opening commenced at 3:05 p.m.

Bids Due:

The Town of Moreau is requesting bids for furnishing topsoil seedbed mix or compost for the construction of the Softball Field Complex at the Harry J. Betar Jr. Memorial Park.

The Work will include mixing and screening of topsoil or compost to meet specifications and delivery of prepared material to the project site in the Town of Moreau, and deposited on the each of four athletic fields as directed. A total of 1,600 cubic yards of topsoil or 1,300 cubic yards of compost shall be delivered to the project as specified.

Schedule: Delivery of material must be completed not later than May 1, 2006, weather permitting, or otherwise approved by the Town of Moreau.

Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to New York State Wage Rate Schedules which are applicable to this project and all other New York State and local requirements.

The project is being funded under a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant by the U.S. Department of the Interior and administered by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The Contractor shall be responsible to assist the Owner and comply with all provisions of the program.

The State has established the following goals for the participation of certified minority and women owned businesses on this project:

MBEs, 3.2% of total dollar value

WBEs, 6.9% of total dollar value

Completed sealed bid forms shall be submitted to the Town Clerk, Town of Moreau, 61 Hudson Street, P.O. Box 1349, South Glens Falls, New York, 12803 not later than 3:00 p.m. on or before April 7^th, 2006 when bids will be publicly opened and read, in the Town of Moreau Office Building, 61 Hudson Street, South Glens Falls, New York.
