Residents:

    During the past few years we have had several close calls with mother nature.  There was the ice storm in the northern part of the state, the tornadoes in the Mechanicville area, the wind storms locally.  During these storms there were power outages and no place for people to go for shelter.

    The South Glens Falls Firehouses are capable of taking people in during an emergency.  Both stations are equipped with generator and kitchen facilities, and are handicap accessible. Residents will have to supply their own bedding.

    The South Glens Falls Fire Company does have a small bus that is handicapped accessible that can be used to bring people to these emergency shelters.  The phone numbers for emergency shelters are the same as our fire house numbers.  These numbers are:

    Village Fire House, West Marion Ave. Station 1 (792-1674)

    Fire House on Route 197 Station 2 (798-4020)
